pinellas trail
The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a linear, multi-use trail extending from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. The Trail, created along a portion of abandoned railroad corridor, provides a unique, protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating and biking. Currently, the trail covers 47 miles (76 km).
This trail has so much potential to connect our community, enhance our greenspace, enahnce urban biodiversity, which is why we created THE SUNLINE.
Our goal is to unite key stakeholders and regenerate this underutilized transportation corridor.
sunline wins:
Our journey to transform the Pinellas Trail into a thriving community connector is already gaining momentum. Here are some key milestones:
Sunline Committee Board
A dedicated board of local leaders and advocates has been formed to guide the vision, build partnerships, and oversee community-driven initiatives that improve the trail.
Partnering with St. Pete Arts Alliance
The Pinellas Trail is now featured on the monthly
St. Pete Art Walk map, highlighting it as a key transportation route for connecting residents and visitors to local arts and culture.
Trail Town Designation in Progress
We're working alongside the City of St. Pete to secure an official "Trail Town" designation from Florida's Office of Greenways and Trails, recognizing the Pinellas Trail as a vital community asset.
Our inspiration:
