Accenture Volunteers Transform Mullet Creek Nature Park!

On Saturday, November 9th, nearly 50 enthusiastic volunteers from Accenture gathered with their families and community members for a corporate-sponsored tree planting at Mullet Creek Nature Park in Safety Harbor, FL. With hands in the dirt and spirits high, volunteers of all ages helped to plant 42 trees and 69 native wildflower and pollinator plants, contributing to a greener, healthier ecosystem.

The event began with a warm welcome from our Executive Director, Dr. Michelle Ellena, who expressed gratitude to Accenture and the volunteers for their commitment to environmental stewardship. Accenture’s representative, Kendal Blakewood, followed with words of encouragement, and Safety Harbor City Commissioner, Nancy Besore, highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives like this one in preserving and enhancing our natural spaces.

Among the trees planted were LongLeaf Pine, Redbud, and Gumbo Limbo, chosen for their environmental benefits and resilience. The native wildflowers and pollinator plants added to the park will also help create a habitat for local wildlife and contribute to biodiversity in the area.

Special thanks go to the City of Safety Harbor and Folly Farm Nature Preserve for their invaluable support in staging and storing supplies before the event. Their partnership ensured the day went smoothly and allowed us to focus on what truly mattered: bringing people together to make a lasting, positive impact on the environment.

As we look forward to watching these trees and plants grow, we’re grateful for Accenture’s sponsorship and their volunteers’ hard work. It was truly inspiring to see so many families come together with such joy and dedication on a Saturday morning. The trees planted today will provide shade, clean air, and beauty for generations to come — an enduring testament to what we can accomplish when we work together. A big thank you to the Safety Harbor Garden Club for committing to maintain these newly planted trees!
